Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR foster and adopted Shelties who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

Annie came into rescue with some special needs: she had a limp due to prior fractures that were left untreated, and being a double merle Sheltie, she was deaf and had some vision issues in dim lighting. But her forever family saw who she was, a sweet, loving Sheltie girl who had so much love to give and who was so deserving of receiving love. She loved playing with her human siblings and canine sister, and going for walks around the lakes. Annie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in February, 2019 and is very missed by her family.

We rescued Bear when he was 3 years old. He was the most beautiful sable Sheltie. So smart and sweet and brave and the best watchdog anyone could ever want. We told him we loved him so much and that it was such a lucky day for us when he could join our little family. He was a wonderful brother to our Sheltie Box who went to the bridge last March, and a wonderful teacher to our new puppy Fergus. He brought so much joy into our lives. I kissed his little head and and we stroked his beautiful soft coat as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 17th, 2019. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him so much. The love and happiness he gave us through his life is worth the sadness we must suffer now. It's always so hard to say goodbye. Our beautiful boy Bear.

My little Princess Enya has gained her angel wings. She was so shy when we adopted her 7 years ago. She went from running the fence line in fear trying to escape, to learning from Maxwell and Riley that being petted was OK. Buddy the cat let her know this was his house. Once her confidence grew, she let him know 'I’m the Princess and we will share the running of the house'. So many baby steps we celebrated. From coming up to us to get her rubs on the head after she watched the boys, to laying by our feet, to walking into the kitchen for the first time after two years. The snuggles were few, but the most special. She was happiest outside by her tree or sneaking a snack at the birdfeeders. She had us wrapped around her tiny paw from the first time we saw her. She had so much sass in her 10 pound body and has left a huge hole in our hearts. I saw a post that said ‘you were my easiest hello and my hardest goodbye’… We love you and miss you, sweetheart.

Maggie became a wonderful mentor to many MNSR foster Shelties upon her adoption in 2006. It is with a heavy heart that I post that Maggie went to the rainbow bridge on January 9th, 2019. She will be forever missed and loved - one of my all-time favorite dogs. She was almost 14 years old, and we so enjoyed her love and playful antics.
