Rainbow Bridge Stories
 Kay T. was the perfect fit for her new mom, a great companion on long walks and plenty of snuggling. "We had the best final days together and she got to eat pork, steak, and chicken. On January 4th, 2019 it warmed up to the 40’s and sunny that day so we had a KFC picnic on the bed with the windows open and nice breeze. On the way to the clinic, we stopped by a rest stop where there was still patches of loose snow, so she got to roll around in it one last time while it was sunny. She died peacefully in my arms lying on her original adoption blanket. Although tearful, I feel truly blessed with my life long relationship with Kay T. and loved and enjoyed all my 10 years with her! Her beginning story was similar to my story and she will forever be remembered as long as my heart remains kind, graceful, with moments of stillness and peace, she taught me these values. |
 Penny was in rescue for a very short time before her foster family, who had been involved in dog rescue for many years, became her forever family. So frightened at first, Penny learned how to be a dog from the other dogs; she learned how to play and fetch small balls, and how to bark. She successfully completed beginning and intermediate obedience and passed her Canine Good Citizen test in 2010. Penny loved being snuggled and brushed by her human and canine family, and enjoyed herding the vacuum cleaner, blender, mixer and washing machine. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 30th, 2018, together again with her best friend Coco, and their big brother Jack. |
 With great sadness, my Parker (left) crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 31st, 2018 at 15 years of age. Parker came to MNSR in 2006. His mom met him and Dustin at the same time. She fell in love with both, couldn't choose between the two, so she picked both! Dustin & Parker became brothers and were inseparable until Dustin's passing in 2016. Parker & Dustin loved wrestling, helping mom pick raspberries, spying on the neighbor dogs, barking, playing fetch, and going up to the lake. The brothers are together again, and will be forever missed. |
 We searched a long time for the perfect family for Allie and she couldn't have been more loved or happier than she was with them: “We were lucky enough to have Allie in our lives for such a short time, from April 2016 until she earned her angel wings on October 13th, 2018. She occupied every corner of our home with all her squeaky toys and beds (at least one in every room, some had two!). She loved her backyard the best, always up for a game of Frisbee or ball. Frisbee was her favorite; she would play all day if we let her. She was 9 years old, but played like a puppy. It was devastating to lose her as suddenly as we did. We are heartbroken without her.” |
